Addictions & Me. October 23, 2009

Okay, so…I have a few addictions that I don’t think I can shake…
The first one is really bad. I never thought it would come to this. At first, I thought it was the stupidest thing in the world…but then I got sucked in. FARMVILLE. I’ve been playing for the past few hours, and I’ve loved every MINUTE. >:D
My second addiction is about thirty times worse…I honestly can’t live without it at this point. It’s just so good. But almost every second, I feel bad cause I keep breathing it in. What can I say? Air’s an addiction I don’t think I will ever get over…So I hope you can get over that fact.

Where the Wild Things Are Synopsis and Review October 17, 2009

See the trailer here!

Hey, guys! Last night, I had the pleasure of going to see the new movie , Where the Wild Things Are, based on the 1963 book by Maurice Sendak. I remember thinking it was the best book ever in elementary school, and getting to see in on screen instead of inside my head really was a treat. This movie had super awesome effects, killer music, a great storyline, and an awesome little main character. For a twelve year old with limited experience, Max Records is a very very good little actor, and he will have a very successful career if he can keep it up.

Actor Max Records and movie-maker Spike Jonze, above.

Where the Wild Things are tells the story of a little boy named Max. One night, Max’s mom brought over her boyfriend and Max gets jealous and stubborn. He starts throwing tantrums and acting wild, and finally, when his mom tries to punish him for his actions, he bites her shoulder and becomes ashamed of himself. This is where the story begins, as Max runs away from his home as fast as he can in his little wolf costume. He runs and runs and keeps running until he finally stops and sees fires out in the distance. He reaches the place where he saw the fires, and there is a large campsite where huge animal-like monsters seem to be living. Carol, one of the monsters, is in an angry fit, and he is destroying all of the monsters’ houses. Everyone’s shaking their heads, wishing they could do something about it, but knowing his anger will pass over. Finally, Max works up the nerve to go and help Carol destroy houses, unsuccessfully. Carol likes him, but the other monsters are angry that the little strange looking boy would come in unexpected and destroy their homes. Frantically, to save his own life, Max makes up one of his stories, telling them that he has magical powers and that the monsters can’t eat him because of said powers. The monsters except Max as their king, as he promises he’ll make everything right. The time King (Max) stays with them is filled with excitement, until Max agrees with KW (one of the monsters) that she should bring her new friends to the amazing fort that Max had helped the monsters build. Everyone but Carol likes KW’s friends. Carol is in love with KW, and he has become jealous. Since Carol says some rude things, Max decides it would be a fun idea to have a dirt clob fight, and so they did, which in the end, only made matters worse. Carol gets angry, for the first time, at Max, and he finally finds out that Max doesn’t have powers. The other monsters were already aware of this, but nobody told Carol, because Carol did not like to be lied to. Carol tried to hunt Max down and eat him, but KW let Max hide in her stomach. KW talks to Carol and when Carol realizes he is going overboard and leaves, Max informs KW about how Carol doesn’t mean to be the way that he is. Max then declares to KW that he has to go home, because he has to fix his own family, and the monsters have to fix theirs. Max says goodbye to everyone but Carol, who was nowhere in sight, and he gets on his boat and sails in the direction of his home. Carol runs to the shore, crying, and silently says sorry and goodbye to Max. When Max reaches land, he happily runs as fast as he can back to his home, where his mother is waiting with cake and a relieved smile.

Socialvibe.com has undergone some MAJOR changes in the past week or so. I’m not so sure if I like it that well anymore. I liked before how you had to get points by earning them, and making other people join. Not just completing small, irrelevant tasks, like showing your sweetest moment for Truvia. I don’t know, maybe I’m in the wrong here, but it really disappoints me that such an awesome, helpful, fantastic website was wasted like that. It used to be a fun thing to do, to go and post in forums, and to have to change your status, do the daily question, and all that for about 30 points. Now, you can get about five trillion (NOT an exaggeration..ha) points just by taking a survey or uploading a stupid picture. What do you think?

Thanks…giving. (: October 16, 2009

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say that I have a little something planned for Thanksgiving break. The people that actually read this, I have probably sent you a message asking you if you would be here. It’s just, I’ve got something special planned and I would like it if everyone got back to me soon. That’s it for now, I think, thanks!

Nevershoutnever!–Happy

Hai, my lovers. :)

Since I haven’t updated in over a month, this may be long, but bear with me, because everything is super cool.

The first thing that is super awesome is the speech I’m going to do tomorrow as Augustus Gloop. And the best part about the whole thing is=I have an excuse to bring my Pillie (pillow, even though it sounds like some kind of drug) to school tomorrow. In case you didn’t know, I take it EVERYWHERE with me. It never leaves my sight until I leave for school. When I get home, it’s mine again. >:D

My second bit of information is about upcoming holidays! Alright, tomorrow is Sweetest Day, and you only know about this if you were born and lived in the Great Lakes area of the US when you were younger. If you’re a born-and-raised Georgian, like me, then I’ll give you a little info regarding this SWEET little holiday. Sweetest Day, celebrated by the Great Lakes region, is a day where generally women give a little gift to their boyfriend/husband/crush just to show love. Guys can do it too, it is just generally executed more by the ladies. ;) Halloween is the next holiday coming up, and I would love to hear all of your costumes in the comments below. Or, you can tell me if you’re going to the game instead, or a party, or w/e. Doesn’t matter. ;) I’m going to be Little Red, although when I finally tried on my costume, it seems to be a little TOO short, so I’ll have to do something about that soon, haha. The next holiday after THAT and perhaps the most IMPORTANT is Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving break this year is going to be very special for me, and it will be a time for parties, photoshoots, and lots of fun, but only one thing will make it great. Anyways, what do you think of Thanksgiving? I used to think it was total bullcrap, but I kind of like it. Regardless of its history, it’s a nice holiday to celebrate, and you get to be with family and friends and hang out and have fun times. How do you celebrate your Thanksgiving holiday break?
